This is it! After 16 years,2 kids & two continents. You had transformed a fan to a devout BACKPACKER magazine reader. I have been looking out for this app from your company for a bit. Great previews! I cannot wait for your paid issue. Keep it up. This is the greatest outdoor magazine ever.
If you love hiking, this digital version of BACKPACKERs is a great buy. The creators make use of interactive and media elements in ways that greatly enhance this print version. Lengthy video and audio clips are used as well as 360 views of gear, interactive trail maps, questionnaires and checklists.
Other digital magazines would do well to take advantage of these types of interactive elements to set their digital versions apart from print versions.

This was my first magazine sub for iPad and I am not disappointed. Yes I may be a bit bias because Im in awe because of the new features enabled on my iPad, but this is a magazine full of education. Everything you need for outdoor adventure in one place. Favourite feature has to be the ability to favourite pages and quickly reference them when needed without having to cycle through magazine after magazine.
I have been a subscriber to BACKPACKER Magazine for many years. The iPad edition is even better than the print edition. Love it!
Love this app. The graphics are excellent and the app is simple to use. The magazine is really good too. :) I love the stories about true hikers and the equipment rates are very useful!
Love this app. The content in BACKPACKER is top notch. Providing critical information for the seriously experienced to the novice newbies. Contains everything you want to know about gear and how to use it as well as the best places to use it. Most importantly they encourage you to get Outside to play

Bought one year subscription & app blows up trying to download first issue. UGH.

Since IOS8 upgrade I have not been able to see or download any issues. I live the magazine when its there but this is just a rip-off.
You would think that the electronic version would be available before the paper copy, but the November issue has been in the book store for at least a week and nothing in " newsstand." Id love to read it but, the BACKPACKER app team is sleeping.
Oct 19th update, still waiting for the November issue. Kindle has had it for a couple of weeks. What gives?
Since IOS8, I havent been able to open any previous issues. Yes, Ive done the restore purchases and even the restart app, but still cant open older issues. Any chance someone from the magazine will reach out to me and help? The mag says its an Apple issue, and Apple says theyve resolved the glitch... Feeling frustrated...
I have been trying to restore my purchased subscription and it just crashes. I dont have any access to all the magazines Ive bought. Browsing and using the magazines even when they work is really sub par compared to other magazines. I want a refund!
